Ok... Apologies are in order again; yes, after my failed attempt at a blog return, I need to say I'm sorry dear readers. Hopefully some of you are still around. Finally, today I decided it was time for an update but not a fashion one. Let's go for the "About Us" category.

About Coco; one of the reasons I have been camera shy lately is that I have had the hardest time keeping a balance between work and eating healthy and exercising, resulting in a fast and large weight gain! This is no excuse for putting fashion aside but I must admit that my wardrobe had suffered. I have recently come to terms with the new weight gain and decided to rebuild a new "larger" wardrobe. Hopefully soon I will be able to share some of my new favorites outfits in a new chubby but happy Coco's body! One of the joys of growing older has been to be able to accept myself in all shapes and especially for feeling confident at any weight! Ouf! I can't believe I am finally able to say that, I almost have tears to my eyes; happy tears of course!

About Django; one of the reasons Django hasn't had so much time to take out the camera is that he was very busy making one of Coco's biggest dreams come true. For a long time, Coco has been pleading for a little dog. There was many tears, sad tears of course and much "please...please...please". Until one day Django found the perfect match for Coco and him. Wanting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for so, so long and Wanting a Chihuahua for so, so long, it was difficult to choose a doggy, we didn't want to compromise on one, didn't want to compromise on the other.

About Pepper: Pepper came into our life 2 months ago, her daddy being a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, her mama being a Chihuahua, she was the cutest thing we had ever seen! We must say not only did we choose her at 8 weeks old, she also choose us. Her breeder said she was the most introverted of the pack, but as soon as Django and I walked in the door, she pushed all the other puppies aside and made sure to let us know that she was the one. To our surprise, after only 2 weeks home, our little timid puppy had already blossomed into a real Alpha Dog and oh, does she ever deserve her own little Oscar Award, as her little eyebrows of "fake" sadness in order to panhandle treats will surely win her the "Best Actress" every time. In the interim, her consolation prizes: favorite chew sticks and Three Dog Bakery Peanut Butter or Daisy cookies.

Bellingham, WA

Recently, Django and I came to the realization that we never had a small weekend getaway; just the two of us. Some last minute planning, et voila, we were en route for Bellingham, WA. Okay... so Bellingham for us Vancouverites doesn't sound that glamorous. I mean Bellingham is a good destination for a quick shopping trip to the USA, but the area of Bellingham where we normally stop just looks like your average shopping/commercial area with the regular chain restaurants around. Hmm.. the opposite of my idea of a "Romantic Getaway", but I let Django work his magic and like always, with his gypsy talents, he did not disappoint me! He did truly concoct us the most perfect couple weekend retreat in Bellingham! Yes! True!

Our weekend consisted of a night in a beautiful Inn and Spa with a full view on the Bellingham Bay, a walk on the refreshing Pier, a lunch at the Old World Deli (yummiest sandwich), a tour of multiple Antique shops, a visit at the peculiar Rocket Donuts shop (who can guess what donuts we pick, the Oreo or Bacon Maple?) and last but not least a 30 minute session of temptation at Digs. What are your favorite long weekend activities?

Hi there! It's Coco and Django, yes, we are still around... we feel that our absence was so long, we might need a re-introduction. Well, its has been a busy time for us and perhaps a time of change. As we are both getting used to our new routine, its now seem appropriate to re-introduce the blog into our life.

Coco has a new job; yes, and it's very office-y. A couple years back, I had made the decision to change my career path. After working 9 years in high end hair salons as a receptionist, apprentice, junior stylist and finally stylist, I decided to venture into the world of Monday to Friday 9 to 5. I have find my match! Now I'm settling into a new work place where the "business casuel dress code" means no more jeans day and I was force to adopt multiple new blazers. When the weekend finally arrives, I look forward to jumping into my hyper-confortable cigarette jeans; my large blouse or shirt are also a rendez-vous. Here was my very simple but "oh so" comfy inspiration for this pretty Sunday morning. How was everyone, past three months?!

On my last coco's outfit post Lush Terrain, I received a comment from Valborg explaining that she loved the hairstyle on the Juniform 2010 collection and she wished to parade a similar look for her graduation party. For a long time I have been thinking about starting hair tutorials; I am extremely camera/video shy, but for my future project, I need to feel more comfortable so I started to practice a little here and there! This morning I thought of giving it a try to recreate the first hair look on the juniform collection to see if I would be able to handle a tutorial on it. Maybe!?? My version lacks the volume, but with a curler and a little bit more hair length, I'm sure it would be easy to perfect it! I will definitely try uploading some tips and tricks for hair soon. Now, it's time for cake; Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Hello bushkins, Django here. Coco took these pictures of me after I photographed her in the park on a lovely sunny and mild february afternoon. I didn't know I was going to be photographed that day, so I probably look even less polished than usual ;) It was alot of fun though; great weather, nice scenery, beautiful partner. What more can a guy ask for! There was even a promenade of ducks that crossed our path and asked us where the duck embassey was! True story!

Lush Terrain

The return to Vancouver has been quite a windmill of emotions and stress, but it is now over. We are back home in our lush terrain, enjoying the benefits of warmer weather "sans manteaux". Our previous week consisted of packing our gigantic Montreal guestroom into 4 little suitcases. A trip to Winners was necessary to purchase additional luggage space. To my excitement, I found a large International Traveler hard shell suitcase (pastel rose with large white polka dots!), a perfect match for the prettiest luggage tag I found downtown in Montreal. I think the suitcase deserves it's own post... maybe a "traveling coco's style" feature soon to come? How was everyone during our long absence!? I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blog and I also promise a bigger smile next time!

She has a new album coming out in the few weeks titled "Have One On Me" that we can't wait to hear. The album is a whopping 3 discs/records long! and a sample track released from the album showcases some Joni Mitchell-esque vibes and flourishes. She has surprised us this past year with her new bombshell fashionista look and now with her new musical direction; sounds very good to us. Hello everyone, it's Coco! It seems like forever... my last outfit post was almost 10 days ago! I never realized how busy Montreal would keep us. Recently, we haven't had as much time as we normally would to reply to your lovely comments or to visit all of our favorite blogs, but very shortly everything will go back to a regular routine! Be sure that we still read all of your amazing comments and it means so much to us; thank you readers! If you have already noticed, I have decided to stay blonde and I am not sporting my usual big smile in todays casual pictures; I actually look quite dazed. It has been so hard prepping to return back to Vancouver. I wish I could stay here with my family and Billy the cat (for more on Billy visit here and here) but I know that realistically I have to return to my Vancouver apartment. It is funny how for Django returning home to Vancouver is such a relief and how for me returning home to Vancouver is such a heartbreaking move! Django here! Coco has assigned me weekly homework for the blog! At home, I am mainly responsible for the music department, so Coco has delegated me with a new job. Every week I will present you with some of my favorite musical bits from my cd, vinyl, and movie collection! To start off the series, I have decided to talk about a song writer that both Coco and I admire for his music, his look, and his colorful personality. It seems well timed since we are also looking forward to seeing the upcoming french movie inspired by his life, "Serge Gainsbourg: Vie Heroique", written and directed by graphic novelist Joann Sfar. The movie looks quite good and the actors seem well chosen (our condolences to family and friends of Lucy Gordon). While we spent the day with Coco's Brother, we had no problem convincing him to pose for us. I remember being little and always looking up to my tall older brother! He must have been one of my first influences into fashion. From a young age, he developed a great classic fashion sense; yes, he might be the kind of guy that has a more impressive wardrobe than his girlfriend, but what is cool about him is his casualness about it all! She has been declared a cuty patootie on multiple occasions, even in a serious office job interview; funny ice breaker but still pleasant. While Django is still asleep with his pillow over is head... oh wait.. he was... nope, he still is asleep and very much annoyed with my typing (sorry, Django)... I am taking a minute to write the caption to his pictures! This past week has been quite a debate as per when we should return to Vancouver. Being in Montreal, only a few hours drive from New York, I am debating going to the Chictopia10 Conference in mid February. I would love to be able to meet with some of the bloggers that I have been reading for quite some time. Plus, many interesting subjects will be discussed by exceptionally chosen speakers during the conference! Sounds like a pretty great opportunity to me! Well, mid-February is also calling for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics! The Olympics in our town, already!? This seems surreal! For years now the subject has been surrounding the city: Olympic this, Olympic that, and now, it is almost time. I wonder what Vancouver will look like after the long awaited games. There will definitly be a certain void; maybe this will give the city some time to focus on other important pressing matters. What are your guys thoughts on Chictopia10 ? Django here. On a recent trip into the city, we stopped by coco's sister's apartment. Its in a beautiful old building on a very picturesque street in Montreal. Her apartment is pretty amazing, has great lighting, and is filled with tonnes of interesting things that are pleasing to the senses. We were all just hanging out when coco put on the mask and i started taking pictures. The results are some of my favorite that i've taken within my short career as a photographer. plus, coco looks so beautiful as always (I'm a lucky man). Hopefully we get a chance to take some more pictures in this wonderful space.

After the holidays and many family gatherings, it felt like my regular daily outfit was becoming a repetition of formal and more formal outfits. These past two weeks have been about dressing back down; jean and t-shirt cravings are at the rendez-vous, oh and... thank you beret! I have been avoiding updating an outfit picture due to my overdue hair coloring. My hairdresser appointment is coming up shortly, the question is what to do? Anyone have any suggestions? Extended traveling can sometimes be quite chaotic. As the days/weeks go by, I start to notice how disorganized I am becoming. My messy luggage is probably the first best example, but coming to a close tie is my laptop desktop! Some tidiness is in order! My first step is to shoot out a GIGANTIC "Thank You!" to Eyeliah who gave us a exclusive feature on her blog Style Symmetry. Also, to Tieka from Selective Potential who started "a guy behind the camera" series of posts; we were honored to be part of her first feature!

I am rarely browsing over runway inspirations but It's probably during this chaotic period that I found comfort in this 2009 summer Manish Arora circus collection. Eclectic, artistic, it is perfection!

A day at the Museums

Django and I were invited by my sister to spend the day visiting museums. We already knew we wanted to see: Waterhouse at The Montreal Museum of Fine Art (picture above) but we were further intrigued to visit one of her favorite free for students spot in Montreal; The CCA, Canadian Center of Architecture (picture below). She often talked about the beautiful summer garden and the study room. There was no way we were going to miss visiting it. Luckily enough, we received a special permission to snap a few pictures in the wooden salon, between the winter garden and the large study room. I can easily imagine if I was a student living in Montreal I would not miss a chance to go relax in this peaceful area. We also took a minute to stop and admire the “by appointment only” library through the window door. I’m sure that many treasures are hidden inside. Book lovers interested in Arts, Graphic Design or Architecture will be stunned by the dream bookstore located on the main floor! Sunny Promenade

Squinty Squint in the sun: not the best expression, but at least it was a pretty very sunny day! We took the opportunity of mild weather to trot around town, looking at pretty areas and pointing out to Django some of my childhood memories. We love Quebec and it's old charms, maybe one day I will be able to convince Django to come live here with me! Until then, I have updated our one song music player with an original Django song "Set Our Sails". A song Django wrote shortly after us meeting, I like to think that I am his muse. I must add that Django mentioned it was unfinished... to be honest I kind of like it this way! How was everyone day?

Pépite d'Or

During this past weeks lack of wardrobe posts, Django and I had a lot of things planned and often came the necessity of dressing up nicely. Of course, each day I wished to have photographed my lovely outfits, but the lack of time during that period is now forcing me to rewear all of my favorite outfits a second time around! My yesterday outfit, repeated today, was embellished by adding some gold accessories; including my new gold nugget (Pépite d'Or) earrings, gift from Django! It was originally worn to go meet with my very generous and very stylish Aunt. She spoiled me rotten this year offering me for Christmas a Sonia Rykiel mirror fresh from Paris and a BCBG two-tone sequins clutch. To my surprise yesterday, she insisted to make me an additional gift and offered me the Micheal Kors rain boots I had dreamed of for so long! I spent the night wearing them inside the house! I feel so lucky! Especially since my Vancouver lifestyle is very basic and ultra modest!

Quebec Ice Hotel

While Django and I have been very busy these past couple of days and our camera has not left it`s bag, we thoughts of offering you a little photo tour of one of our favorite Quebec attractions; Quebec Ice Hotel. The Ice Hotel shown below is the 2008 Palace and because of melting each spring it is reconstructed each winter in a different theme; sometime bigger and always better! The brave can spend the night in the giant freezing igloo, provided with a thin mattress and a sleeping bag, at 200$ a night/person it is basic camping for the riches! For people like Django and I who like the comfort of their own home and the proximity of a fireplace on a winter night, you will be able to go enjoy a tour during the daytime of the entire Hotel which includes luxurious suites, a bar, a lounge and a wedding chapel.

Today, Django and myself ventured out for some shopping on Mont-Royal street. Due to lack of time during our past trips to Montreal, we have always ignored the area . To our surprise we made a little discovery that will bring us back. Of course this is old news to any Montreal resident, but maybe like us you have missed out on this little gem. Located near Saint-Denis on Montreal-Royal is The Old Gold Boutique. I was instantly attracted to their armoire display at the entrance filled with unbelievably unique rings, probably totaling more than 50 different models. My second wish list item was the One's Best Boy scarf. On our way out, the lovely sales girl was kind enough to let me know that they operate an online store (enjoy, dear readers) and make sure not to miss out on them when you pass around Montreal, as the online merchandises are mostly different than the ones they carry in store!

I present you the New Years outfit, of course the first time around I was wearing a more delicate footwear and I had properly aligned my tights... I must admit I kind of like the unintentional swirly look. Next time, I will probably try it on both legs! Recently I found a brand new Trench Coat in the family's forgotten closet. I have never seen it on anyone else before, I really have no idea who it belongs to and even thought it needs hemming, I've quickly developed a liking for it. If no one claims it before my departure, it might make a trip to rainy Vancouver!

Happy New Year Everyone! Our first post of 2010 and we decided to offer you, dear readers, a little something different! Our first Django outfit post. It took me everything to finally convince Django to pose for me, and of course, once the photos were uploaded Django was not happy with the results! I had to twist his arm to put them online! Okay so maybe it is the boots, Django is more the boat shoe, pastel vans or stylish oxford type of guy, but in the Quebec weather these footwear are forbidden. My parents offered him the explorer boots a couple years back before visiting the Ice Castle in a weather of minus 40C (post coming soon). Do you girls/guys enjoy men outfit posts? The Morning After

Finally, today I woke up feeling better, leaving behind a 10 day cold. It was about time I got out of bed and the dirty pijamas and dressed up pretty. Django and I decided to brave the cold to give you a little photo update. From the 15 minutes spent outside, Django managed to snap one of my favorite pictures: the classic vintage pouty face! I have no clue where it came from, but I think at that exact moment I shared the same feeling as someone somewhere in the 1900`s. It`s cold, It`s too bright so take your darn picture already!

Oh Dear readers, I heard your comments! I think eventually I will attemps some hair tutorials. I dont know when and I dont promise I will succeed, but I owe it to you to at least give it a try!

A Christmas in Painting

After spending a week in admiration of a 1961 painting by Quebec painter Laure Major, I had no choice but to focus the inspiration into my wardrobe. It was easily accomplished when I found this adorable black and white dress. I was still fighting a cold but my mother's white faux fur vest gave me the impression of being wrapped up into a soft blanket.

Here is a little Coco goofing with her little but very tall sister (sadly who did not accept to be part of the picture) around the Christmas tree once all the presents were opened. I am wearing a traditional Christmas paper hat received in a Christmas cracker... yep... our family always wears them as tradition, and of course we like sharing the included paper gags/jokes that are found inside, which this year turned out to be serious geometry questions and historical trivia! Notice that Django had already traded his hat for a Santa Claus one, as he was chosen to distribute gifts. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

The Gold inspired outfit is not what I will be wearing for Christmas; for that special look you will have to wait for the actual Holiday. All I can say is the already long planned outfit changed 3 times in the past week. Also, thank you to everyone for sharing their favorite Christmas movies. It seems like I will have a lot of time to watch them all as I woke up with a sore throat and it seems that I'm coming down with a cold. After the photoshoot, I directed myself to bed and I have been wrapped in blanket since, gobbling vitamins and cold fx! This is serious bad timing, bacteria! At least I have a sweet Django that do not fear them, he has been feeding me Egg Nog coffee cake and regularly bringing me fresh water. He definitely knows how to cheer me up. On a happier note, we want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays with all our best wishes!

Django`s Christmas Movie Tradition

Hello Bushkins, Django here! I decided to do a post about my holiday movie viewing traditions: While my favorites have to be a Charlie Brown Christmas and the Rankin-bass specials, I thought I would share a lesser known gem with you guys. True, it doesn't involve a Christmas theme, but I would watch it every holiday as a child and therefore it has become required viewing along with the others.

It is called "Hansel and Gretel: An Opera Fantasy" and it is wonderfully unique and charming. It's from 1954 and some of the puppet animation is a bit primitive, but it has great design work and beautiful music. (Some of the puppet's expressions are kind of creepy, but the characters are so sweet that its easy to look past it. The father's "broomstick" song became a thing of legend around my house, as I would recite it as a child in my underpants).

Oufff... I'm happy to be able to update my blog at last. Since I've been in Montreal, I feel that I have neglected this space. Django and I spent a lot of time with the family but also a lot of time shopping; my first visit to La Maison Simons was fruitful, I could have posted a shopping haul with everything I purchased; mostly accessories! We are looking forward to Boxing Day (Do you guys have boxing day? From what I understand, it is the same as Black Friday but in Canada on the 26th of December) but we are ten times more excited for Christmas Day, the past 2 years was only Django and I, so we are so excited to have a real traditional Christmas spent with the family!

The Rooster Serigraphie that can be view on the first picture is a early christmas gift to my mom from my brother! It is simply beautiful in person. She also received a box of 12 fresh french macaroons, that she generously shared! What a lucky lady!

Billy Time!

Today, the morning consisted of spending time with Billy the cat! I am aware that she is not everybody's tastes (physically); if you remember or have followed us for awhile, I had already mentioned that she is a breed close to the Sphynx cat called Peterbald, but to me she is the prettiest baby panther! She is so special, we also learned that she is a real spaghetti cat, we had pasta for dinner and she went nuts; we had a hard time keeping her off the table! After her trying to kiss me plenty and playing with my hair, Django and I went to visit one of our favorite antique store. When we came back, I had a surprise in the mail! Last month I had entered Yellow Goat giveaways from Yokomono Studio and I was the lucky winner! My prize was a Polopolo Multi Pockets Pouch (shown on picture below), I had the chance to select the print/color! I choose the Diamond in light blue! I'm so happy with my prize; it is so pretty and the craftsmanship is purely excellent! I will try to incorporate it into one of my daily outfits soon! Catching Up!

While the last 2 days have been spent in pajamas running last minute errands and traveling to "Cold Land", I will use tonight to cozy up next to the family home fireplace with a warm Decaf Cafe Latte and catch up on everyone's blogs! This last week was rife with nostalgic feelings for my brown old hair. It plunged me into floppy disk research for old photographs. Here, I found some winter themed pictures taken 5 years ago on my first trip back home after moving to Vancouver. It was the only time Django stayed behind, I wanted to make sure he did not forget about me and email him plenty of pretty Coco in the snow souvenir! You girls/guys will probably notice that during our trip the Dex jacket will be a repeat item! It is one of my favorite novelties left from my teenage years! It is perfect for Montreal weather; comfy and always in style!

At Renz's Gathering

After hours of outfit change and complaints, I finally opted for the black lace dress, white tights, red Ophelia hat and a pretty red ribbon bow for a belt! Django acclaimed; "En route for Renz's!" We pretended to be Saint Nicolas and brought along a bag of small gifts/goodies for our friends and a plate of delicious chocolate and butterscotch chips cookies; everyone asked for the secret ingredient. I must confess I was out of regular cocoa powder and I had to use my very expensive Greens and Black's Organic cocoa powder. Django had the pleasure to take a couple snaps of Renz's place. We are always in admiration for their creative way of thinking. Our favorite piece has to be the pulley system wardrobe that Renz built for his girlfriend in their high ceiling bedroom. Like tradition, the night ended with an hour of you tube video sharing! We can never avoid them, this time I was the one to blame, I could not resist passing the opportunity of showing Bacon is Good for me! Also good in it's remix version! Now, I need to start packing for Montreal... oh... no worries, we will have plenty of regular updates planned during our trip!

Today Django and I are slowly getting ready for a small, casual Christmas gathering with some of our best friends. I am planning to spent the afternoon making either Brownies or Butterscotch chips Cookies; Django is voting for the Brownies but I really think cookies are an easier finger food/dessert!

We took some pictures in the outfit that I am planning to wear. Knowing how difficult I am with myself I will probably spend the next 3 hours changing and might end up wearing something completely different (Django rolls his eyes)! You guys/girls will see the results tomorrow as we will bring our camera along. Hopefully our friends will give us permission to introduce them in our blog in a tomorrow post! It is time to introduce you to one of our favorite movies, many of you might already have seen the masterpiece but maybe for some of you it went unnoticed in your area. Let us introduce you to Philippe Petit, funambule, master of the high-wire walk! Contrary to Django and Coco, Philippe always knew what his destiny would be, including many major stunts between the towers of Notre Dame De Paris, on the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and the Eiffel Tower. At the age of 19, he decided that he would attempt to walk in between the yet to be constructed and not forgotten Twin Towers. The movie takes you on his sometimes comical, sometimes fearful, sometimes extraordinary journey to his grandiose "Coup de funambule". Simply Breathtaking!

Django and I are slowly getting ready to go spend most of the winter away in “Cold Land” (Montreal). Early this week, I have decided to mail my new vintage winter jacket in advance for it to be ready when I arrive. It needs to be taken to the dry cleaner to get rid of the previous owner faint moth ball perfume. Oops! One thing I did not predict was the incredibly cold Vancouver weather. Now I am stuck with a thin/old/oversize/overdone winter jacket! That is nothing a Half Eggnog Half Milk Chai Latte cannot fix; here is my smile again!

While on a promenade today we came across an incredible homemade sidewalk landscaping. It includes statues of one old lady reading a book on a bench , 3 bears, one baby playing in the mud and a jungle style tree! We took 2 or 3 shots but ended up leaving; the area was very busy! I hope Django will take me again, hopefully soon!

First, we wanted to start this post by giving a enormous "Thank You" to the beautiful Kristin from Leproust Vintage, who featured us on her blog last week! We were so ecstatic to receive our first blog feature! Also, we want to welcome and thank all our new (and past) readers and followers; your support and comments mean so much to us! Welcome Aboard!

Years ago I had purchased a book from The Brothers Grim, Illustrated by Errol Le Cain, "Twelve Dancing Princesses". I remember being breathtaken by the gorgeous imagery. The book had been retired to Django's bookshelves for a long time now. Until recently, a book from The Brothers Grim also Illustrated by Errol Le Cain appears on our kitchen table. This book started a series of confusion between Django and I. At first Django claimed it was a book he just purchased, but I was convince it was my book! After hours of going through Django's bookshelves, I finally found my correct copy and realized we now own two different story books from The Brothers Grim illustrated by Errol Le Cain! Django's book is titled "Thorn Rose"!

Django's Closet meets Coco

After a disastrous attempt at a daily outfit photoshoot on Friday morning, Django and I decided to take advantage of this wonderful sunny day and make use of our best skills to make today a success! We are very happy with the results! Inspiration came of the "a la mode" wave of tomboy posts from some of our best fashion bloggers. I have particularly been head over heels for the Lulu Letty version that reminds me of the finest, back in the day Calvin Klein!

After rambling through Django's closet and picking a white button shirt and his favorite sweater (Poor Django, at this point I realized that there is a moth hole on the top front shoulder, it really bummed him out) It appears that I might be able to get a hold of this look. Okay... so maybe my Coco adaptation has still too much of a girlie vibe, but I like the contrasting mix. All in all, I felt a 1940s ambiance, which I will take any day!

The "Sold Out" year: Is this something that only happens to Django and Myself or do a lot of you fall under this shopping curse? It seem no matter what category of items we are looking to purchase (Furnitures, Wii Games, Books, Clothing/Jewelries) we more than often find out that the desired item is "Sold Out". This curse only intensifies the attraction of the item and the wait becomes abounding of frustration. This Christmas shopping was no different, after learning that many of our Christmas plans were "Sold Out", we decided to compromise for new ideas! In a land far far away...

There is one thing Django and I will never argue about: our favorite Vancouver house. We have named the peculiar cottage "Witch House". Every time we are near and about to drive in front, we both become overexcited and will hold a conversation about the "Witch House" for possibly the next 45 minutes. This summer we made a incredible discovery. Someone somewhere must have shared the same love for this mysterious house, as they decided to transformed a plain 1940s bungalow into "Witch House#2". We learned that the roof transformation alone cost over 200k$. Can you imagine? At the moment the house is uninhabited, so it gave us the chance to snap a couple close up photos before a multimillionaire Snow White moves in.

Django's Melody

While Django is at work with his millions of magazines, I am patiently waiting for his availability as a photographer before sharing one of my favorite outfits.

I felt this was good timing for a proper introduction. You may have noticed I have recently added a song player to the sidebar of our blog. I'm leaving the choice up to our readers to click+click+click the play button and enjoy some sweet tunes while browsing.

Since Django's favorite hobby has to be music, I felt it was natural to feature it on our little space. The playlist will include only one song at a time, will be update once in awhile and will either be: Django's original compositions, Django and Friend's collaborations, Django's covers interpretation.

All the songs are recorded in our very tiny home. Hopefully this will motivate Django to compose and record more melody. The first listen is Chris and Django's most recent collaboration: Chris's song "Always been water". It has to be one of my favorite songs of the moment! This week I had bookmarked many Vintage Hats on Etsy. I was still uncertain which one to add to my collection. After a review of this weeks favorites, I noticed a strong influence: definitely Woody Allen, New York! New York! A little Annie Hall, a little Alice perhaps!... but it was a stop to my favorite jewelry store that changed everything; once again in Loulou luv I fell in love! Created by one of my favorite chapeau and hair accessory makers, Ophelie Hats from Montreal, I have purchased a piece that will never age! A true classic with a twist of incredible originality! At Django's request, I'm taking a tiny miniature break from the Outfit/Fashion post for 1 or 2 posts. Don't get him wrong, I think he enjoys them very much, but he likes the blog variation and he is making sure that I do not derogate!

This morning inspiration came from a long time favorite. The blackcurrant is called in french "Cassis". I always have been sort of in love with this mini berry and at this time of the year, it seems that my interest for this flavor is suddenly growing. Maybe it is because the holiday spirit is finally showing itself: it brings back memories of being served a tiny portion of "Creme de Cassis" in a glass of 7up.

When I first introduced Blackcurrant to Django's diet, he seemed to be resistant and still at this point his first impulse is to say "no, thanks". Of course, he always succumbs and once he does I know that the famous blackcurrant is deemed to disappear fast, very fast. He transforms into a little ogre!

Under what form do we prefer our blackcurrant? Nothing extravagant, we love it under a simple form.

This month, we have daily enjoyed Blackcurrant Jam/Jelly. It seemed like a funny mix but the famous natural Peanut Butter + Jelly combination is "oh so" improved with Blackcurrant: it turns this snack into a delicious gourmandise. We also often choose the Ribena option. A little splash into Perrier, Pellegrino or Club Soda and here created is a perfect Italian Soda. Another wonderful product is the Blackcurrant Bracer tea by London Fruit&Herb Company. The sublime aroma of this tea will fill the room and force you to want to remake it over and over and over just so you can enjoy the smell! Bon Appétit!

My DYI Bow Tie

Since early summer I had wanted to buy one of the American Apparel bow tie but at $26CAD I felt the price was outrageous! Last weekend, I finally had enough courage to plug in the sewing machine and "Ta-da!" at $0CAD here is my new and perfect bow tie! It is even more to my taste than the one sold at AA. I just want to sew 1 million of them!

I had a lot of fun doing my hair up. Django is not the biggest fan of my crazy up-do, so I rarely parade them. What can he expect marrying a ex-hairdresser!?

Favorite Fall Accessory

If you have heard the gossip about my current hometown of Vancouver then I will not break news by saying that Fall/Winter/Spring there is rain, and then some and then more!

I will always remember my second winter in this town. I can recall that for the month of January it was constant rain for over 20 days, non-stop! I had never seen anything quite like it. It left me with no choice but to start shopping umbrellas! From then there were many: unpractical, broken and left behind companion. Until the day I found my Fulton! It might not be the most high fashion, but it fits in the smallest purse, is barely 145grams (including pocket sleeve) and is the strongest umbrella i have ever owned!

Today I stumbled on a collection they have put out by Designer Lulu Guinness (shown above). It came out over a year ago in the UK. I like the extra little froufrou without sacrificing the practicality!

Riding To Canonbie

Since Django and I first meet, both in good collector spirit, we started to gather many treasures! One of the collections we have started building early on in our relationship is Vintage Children Books! Okay.. maybe some are newer prints, but the fact is that they were illustrated years back! We both shared a passion for illustration and what a better place to find a book filled with them than in a childrens book! I have been begging Django over and over for him to compose and illustrate his own book! Maybe one day!

Weekend 1°C and Glasses

Oh.. what is up with this frozen Autumn!? I'm surprised how cold it has been in Vancouver. Normally during the winter, the weather never flirt very long near Zero Degrees. It is not even winter yet and Vancouverites have already kissed a 1°C!

In this cold weather I had picked some shorts and tights... but it only took me minutes to switch into pants! I also loved how the pretty cardigan and shirt matched my Victorian inspired frame glasses. I normally never wear them out of the house... but today felt appropriate!

Chocolate or Tea? Both, please!

Okay, Its no secret. I am head over heels for sweets! It's stronger than me. I just love dessert with a passion! I do try to limit myself; most importantly portion control. One thing for sure, I will never banish it.

Django and I classify our delicious coffee shop drink as desserts! Django likes his coffee, but myself I prefer the Tea Latte option! Chai Latte will always be a favorite but since last year I have grown very fond of London Fog (Earl Grey, Vanilla, Steamed Milk). Very Delicious!

You must understand my excitement when I came across Thomas Haas Tea Bar! My first pick was instantly the Chai Tea Bar (handmade chocolate milk with darjeeling tea and chai spices). Because of the very original and distinct taste, it was not love at first bite, but after 2 or 3 squares I could not stop myself and now I am in complete adoration with the product! Oh.. and kudos to the design team... who forgot about squares... the bar is designed with different geometric shapes making it easier to break and so much more fun to eat!

My second pick was the Matta Tea Bar (handmade white chocolate with matcha grean tea). Very succulent! The tea flavor is subtle and is just in perfect harmony with the not overly-sweet white chocolate!

At last, I am left to try the Rooibos Rose Tea Bar (handmade dark chocolate with rooibos tea and essence of rose). Dark chocolate is always my last pick, even thought it is Django's first pick! Yummy!

When the cold weather points its nose, it also brings many disappointments: no more days spent at the beach, no more iced chai lattes (yummy), no more short and flip flops. Fortunately, Django and I will easily trade in all those favorable attributes, as we are fervent lovers of the colder months!

Dear Grey Gardens

Oh my dear Grey Gardens, maybe one day Django and I can visit you. For the meantime, we will continue looking at every house that you resemble and compliment them by calling them by your name.

How many time did Django make me watch Grey Gardens, the 1975 documentary film by Albert and David Maysles? Probably too many, but how can we get enough. That is why back in April 2009, when the new HBO Grey Gardens movie by Michael Sucsy starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange as Big and Little Eddie Bouvier Beale came out I was ecstatic. I surely had high expectations and the movie did not disappoint!

If you are not familiar with Miss Edith Bouvier Beale "Little Edie" and her dear mother Edith Bouvier Beale "Big Edie" (cousin and aunt of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis), I would suggest to watch the HBO movie ASAP. You will witness the complex story that surrounded this high society family, victim of a massive downfall, and the twisted relationship between a recluse mother and daughter.

Furry Inspiration

These past few weeks, I have been overwhelmed by inspiration coming from all fellow bloggers. The strongest this month has to be the little fur collar, perfect for the colder months! Here is my interpretation; I like to pair them with a pretty brooch!

Also, I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite dress of all time. It has been part of my closet for just over 4 years. No surprise it has been called "My Christmas Dress". Contrary to its look, it is not vintage. It is made with uncommon material for clothing; heavy velvet, thick paisley fabric, strong golden ribbon. I will always cherish this piece.

What we thought was to be a fast morning errand trip, turned out to be a full morning and afternoon of shopping and spending! Poor Django and Coco... literally: POOR!

I did find this amazing little Equestrian Deena&Ozzy hat at Urban Outfitter for 50% off! I was so happy because I've been looking for one for a long time. To get it on sale made me realize that this little hat was the one I had been waiting for!

How do I love this Blazer/Vest/Blouse combination? I love how it can be worn about 6 different way! I have a fixation with clothes that can transform. I always feel that i get my *monies worth, even thought I always end up wearing it the same exact way over and over again! Crosley Radio

Lets admit it; both Django and I are fans of the retro Crosley Radio and Turntable. We of course think that original vintage piece are much more prestigious but hey... when it come to electronic why not enjoy all the benefit of a brand new machine while keeping your retro inspired home decor intact! We are lucky to own a CR74 Cherry Turntable for a couple year now, it might not have been our first choice but we found this one at a Liquidation Sale and pay only peanut for it! This morning while walking around downtown Vancouver we decided to stop at Urban Outfitter and saw this new pastel green Crosley Alarm Clock Ipod Speaker, it reminded me of a picture of a original vintage piece I saw on someone else blog post this week! Very Cool!

Fright Night

Every year for Halloween, Vancouver Playland get a frightening makeover! Django and I went for the first time last year and last night we decided to repeat the experience, it was definitely worth it!

This years a mega boost of budget was given to the special night. The park was totally cover in fog and the 4 Haunted houses that are added to the playground have double in size. The park did not forget to add plenty of high quality costumed actor running around always ready to give you a spook!

We were so lucky with the weather, no rain! Added bonus, the park was very quiet, we did not have to wait at any of the Haunted House or at any of the regular ride!

Peace and Love Moleskine

This morning, Django and I had our Wednesday routine shopping trip. I did make 2 amazing purchases that I'm looking forward to blog about: my 2 new vintage treasures are being kept as a surprise for another day, but too give you a little hint it is very Victorian!

The last stop on our route was the Book Warehouse where I saw a series of Peace and Love Moleskin made in the commemoration of Woodstock for their 4oth birthday! I always like the clean and simple aesthetic of Moleskine books. The added embedded hippie graphic is a nice touch to make the little simple black book that much more special! Each book come with their own added gift! You can find the series of 4 on Moleskine Website.

New Addition!

Their is a new addition in our family and Django's publicist does not endorse! At least that's what he thinks!

Coco waited patiently for one week and a half and it has now arrived; Coco's new camera! Its not the fanciest gadget, but I think for two beginner photographers it will do plenty! Coco is very excited because that means that we can now have more unique features on the blog!

Can you imagine the beautiful aroma from these green beauties?

One of my many disappointments with Canadian Online Shopping was to not be able to purchase one of the lovely Organic Meyer Lemon Topiary. VivaTerra did a wonderful job at describing each and every one of their plants, and it does not feel like online shopping! I can easily imagine the plant and also how it would look so splendid in the middle of my kitchen counter. The Organic Olive Tree would make a wonderful Christmas Gift or Housewarming present, with olives by November it is the perfect conversation piece for American Thanksgiving!

To continue on the "C'est Tellement Cute" Animal Theme, I would like to give a special mention to my favorite animal of all; Billy Bob! Correction, her name is only Billy; it does enrage my little sister when I call her Billy Bob but every time I cannot resist to add the Bob!

She has been an addition to our family for the past 3 years, and even tough she live 5000km away, I still love her so so so much! Her very unique, funny and interactive personality might be the cause.

She is part of a newer breed that is not yet very well know: Peterbald a mix between Siamese and Oriental cat. If you are a fan of similar breed (Sphinx, Cornish Rex, etc...) I would really suggest to familiar yourself with Peterbald. You might just find the perfect match for your next best friend!

C'est Tellement Cute!

Today rain is pouring on Vancouver. Django and I are having a lazy Saturday. To keep myself busy I decided to create an Etsy Treasury.

I have wanted to do one for awhile but the number of Treasury is limited to 333. To be able to created one you have to calculate when the next treasury will expired and you need to be ready at your computer at the time and date to set up yours before someone else take the spot. Almost like an auction! It does give it so much more thrill!

Today it work out fine, plenty of Treasury became available! I decided to call mine "C'est Tellement Cute!" and the theme was animal!

Another post about Eye Wear; but this time you are in for an "Amazing Treat"!

Django always keeps all sort of 3D EyeWear around personally I never understood why he hold on to them. Especially that we do not have anything 3D to watch or to look at in the comfort of our tiny castle. Well, at this point I talked to fast, one night I stumbled across a world of gorgeous 3D imagery! I yelled at Django for the 3D glasses, and once the glasses were on, I spent hours navigating Flickr. For some reason we could only find one pair of those Red and Cyan Glasses, so Django and I had to keep each other from hogging the glasses. Now I was teach a lesson; if I do stumble upon a 3D eyewear you can be sure that It will be a safe keep!

This Summer I embarked on a quest to find the perfect eye wear. I have owned my pair of black metal Modern/Victorian Square style for 3 years and feel that I am well overdue for a change. Van Dusen Garden

I finally convinced my little Django to take me to the Vancouver Van Dusen Garden! It is now fall, and at this point most of the bloom season is over. We still wanted to have a little walk in a pleasant atmosphere; we were served! We had a wonderful time! We saw many beautiful flower (yes! yes! still in full bloom) and we also shared many romantic kisses under the beautiful Fall color leafs. At the end of our visit we spend some time in the Fragrance Garden smelling all the plants; our favorite was a chocolate flower. We don't know if it was the excitement of the day or the pollen of the flowers but we ended up spending the next 3 hours being extremely delirious and giggling uncontrollably.

Django Secret Room

Today, I sneak in Django secret room!

It's a good thing I did not get caught, as he normally do not allow me. It's a very restricted area only allow to Django himself! When we upgraded from our tiny 3 and 1/2 apartment to our wonderful 4 and 1/2 castle, I generously gave him this extra bedroom, of course I had dreams of a cute little lounge room with a built in bench (we demolished the old closet, for the purpose of this). 3 years later the built in bench became a mega built in workstation and shelves filled with hundreds of magazines, games, puzzles, comic books. The lounge room is now a full time dedicated library with hundreds of books and dvds filled up to the ceiling. All the bookshelves are full and Django has started to pile his thousands of magazines on the floor; now we cannot even walk in there! All that was left for his collection of antique and vinyl designer toy was the really pretty desk i had bought him for drawing. What a room!!

Let Start Cooking!

This month is all about food in Django and Coco little castle, and after receiving this adorable apron from Django; I'm, oh so impatient to start cooking or baking... (baaaaking... yummmmy!) It was the perfect gift before heading to the movie theater where we had a share of a nice buttery Pop corn and a Diet Pepsi. I must add Diet Pepsi for Coco, Pop corn for Django.

It also reminded me of this wonderful book (Baked New Frontiers in Baking By Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito) I had received this past Christmas from a friend, I have not yet try any of the recipe since I was intensely dieting for the past couple month, but I think it would be time for me to sample them (all!). I could go for hour just turning the page, envious and seeing how every concoction would be perfection! It is a shame that Django do not share my passion for dessert, but that just make more for me!

Allo! Bienvenue! Welcome to our Home Sweet Home! We are at the moment a little shy, we are not yet expert host, but in time we might just become good at this.

An introduction is in order, my name is Coco, I'm born in Montreal, Qc and that would make me a French Canadian, I have only been fluently bilingual for 6 years so please, forgive me for my poor lack of writing skills. I'm living in Vancouver, Bc because 5 years ago I met a wonderful Django, he was traveling in my beautiful native city of Montreal. When I saw him near the white statue on the corner of Sherbrooke and St-Denis Street, I had yet to guess that we would still be wonderful lover 5 years later. After our first 3 months of wonderful promenade under the full moon, chocolate, milkshake and kisses, we elected Vancouver, Django native city, as our temporary hometown.

In our Vancouver hometown, we like to explore, collect and dream towards a future project, that we both share passionately. We would like to have a little shop were we could finally share our discoveries with the connoisseurs 0f the very pastel and fine arts. In the meantime, we have decided to both put in a little effort and build this web space where we will let you in on our at the moment Coup De Coeur.
