Riding To Canonbie

In my early 20s, in good collector spirit, I started to gather many treasures! One of the collections I have started building early on is Vintage Children Books! Okay.. maybe some are newer prints, but the fact is that they were illustrated years back! I always shared a passion for illustration and what a better place to find a book filled with them than in a childrens book!

I thought that it would be a great idea to post some of the beautiful inspirational images taken out of the book collection. I hope you will enjoy!

Book; Riding to Canonbie
Author and Illustrator; Cara Lockhart Smith
Year; 1972

OH MY GOODNESS - I bought this book at a library sale in the 70s, fell in love with it, started writing music to the gorgeous poetry (starting with Jeremy Jimpson), stupidly lent it out to someone who never returned it, and left town, and I had no idea where he was, and I could NOT remember the name of the book, or the author, and OHHHHHHHHHHH THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
